I totally used to judge Tony Robbins for being salesy, way too optimistic, having it easy. But then something made me listen to this episode and my life literally changed.

I went from struggling with big time (depression, spiraling into debt, little social support + sick & struggling family members)  to putting on my big girl pants and turning everything around.

Tony Robbin’s, 3 steps to a breakthrough. How taking control of your strategy, story and state can create lasting change. Was the pep talk I totally needed. It also gave me super clear tools to move forward with.

I started taking the steps that not only got my life back, but got me to create a way better one.  The time is NOW for this podcast, don’t skip this or save it for later.. at least give it a few mins, make time for it.

I know it will help you with any struggle (work, family, home life, money, emotions…)

This is by far my MOST game changing podcast episode I’ve ever listened to.  If you’re into doing better in daily life and if you’re a human being ..you need to hear this episode.

This BROKEN BRAIN podcast episode is with Shelly Lefkoe of the Lefkoe Institute.  The Lefkoe Institute gets humans to finally stop screwing themselves over.

We screw ourselves up in life when we assign meaning to situations and when we stay in  old beliefs. Sally explains, in a super simple way how our beliefs and the meaning we put on things can totally keep us stuck and suffering in life .

1. WE assign Meaning –

Humans are meaning making machines, it’s what we innately do. It’s also something we do that fucks a lot of stuff up. Once we assign meaning – we have changed a simple situation into something bigger than it is- AND often much worse than it actually is. We assign drama to something

That is because our individual meaning come from our own BELIEFS

2. Beliefs ARE NOT TRUTHS!  – Shelly explains

The meaning we put on situations ALL comes from our own beliefs.  Beliefs are simply something we (each) SAW in our early years ( most often from our caregivers)  that was formed into a belief… something we sincerely hold to be true.

No parent is perfect and mine definitely showed me some weird stuff that I formed into some super LIMITING beliefs.

These 2 simple tips from Lefkoe –

1. DISSOLVE meaning you assign to situations

2. RELEASE old beliefs.

Okay, so I’ve been on a chocolate kick. Honestly I’ve always loved chocolate but this year I’ve really been digging the stuff.

Most likely it’s due to stress and massive life changes.  My husband and I  left our jobs and life in Seattle to focus on family and grow our own businesses. I immediately sought out my old comforts; yoga studio, juice bar, park for my dog, great coffee shop, bookstore and my daily chocolate! 

Chocolate is a such a comfort, right?! (check out science at end of this post on why it keeps us calm and happy)

How to make the best salad that you can’t wait to eat.

Okay!  So of course I love salad’s.

It’s what healthy people eat, right?! We need those bowls of nutrient packed veg to keep us lean, healthy and strong.

But they can get boring. Maaaan I hear that!

So how the heck do we keep salad’s exciting AND make sure we’re getting what we really need?

As busy people we gotta

  1. Hold ourselves over for at least 4 hours
  2. Get in those super powerful nutrients to stay on top of our game
  3. Feel good.. no gas or wanting to take a nap after
  4. Feed our hungry muscles
  5. Actually enjoy it – so we keep eating them and enjoy our salad moments.
